Southeast Asia has opportunities for growth, while Europe lags

World Risk and Insurance News spoke with Mike Morrissey, President and CEO of the International Insurance Society (IIS), during the recent Joint Industry Forum in New York.  Mr. Morrissey believes the tone of discussions at this year’s event was different.  Leaders are talking more about long-term structural changes in the insurance business.

Mike Morrissey, President and CEO of the International Insurance Society (IIS), reviewed areas of the world where he sees growth opportunity for insures, from Southeast Asia to Middle East, Latin America, China, the U.S. and lastly Europe.

With the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) coming together in 2016, Mr. Morrissey sees tremendous opportunity for economic growth. He notes that Vietnam has 90 million people and is often overlooked as a country with potential growth opportunity with a rapidly growing economy.

After Southeast Asia, Mr. Morrissey sees opportunity for growth in the Middle East, Latin America, China, the U.S. and lastly Europe.
