Small cut in Medicare reimbursements boosts health insurer stocks

Federal regulators’ proposal to cut Medicare reimbursement rates – only slightly in 2016 – drew cheers from health insurance investors…and helped boost *companies’ shares during the week of February 23. Preliminary plans released by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, would reduce Medicare payments to insurers by 0.95% on average in 2016.
