Genworth Financial has some restructuring plans. It has begun consolidating its U.S. life insurance division and corporate holding company functions. The insurer recorded charges connected to its troubled long-term care insurance business during the 2014 fourth quarter, after a review revealed negative margins at several of its blocks of business.


AIG’s commercial lines businesses were hit by material unfavorable prior-year reserve development in both the fourth quarter of 2014 and the full calendar year. AIG said the unfavorable development recorded in the fourth quarter was primarily attributable to its environmental and financial lines businesses.
