Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp. COO Vijay Ramachandran will lead the company as its interim CEO. David Thomas abruptly resigned after a disagreement with the board, according to state Insurance Commissioner James Donelon. Louisiana Citizens Property’s executive staff members were excluded from the meeting that culminated in Thomas’ resignation.

Berkshire Hathaway and other major insurers backed away from some high-profile energy stocks in the fourth quarter of 2014 as oil prices fell. Berkshire dumped all of its holdings in Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips, and New York Life sold a large chunk of its Exxon Mobil investment. Oil prices declined again in March after seeing some rebound in February.
