The NICB Chief Communications Officer. A recent survey of insurance companies has now officially engaged the NICB. According to Mr. Morris, the insurance industry is principally concerned with Identity Theft. During the underwriting and/or claims proves, Mr. Morris says it is important to verify information, particularly when it received by phone. He suggests checking information against public record, double-check addresses. Mr. Morris points out that all companies are aware of the threat of cybercrime, with the recent news of retailers being victimized. Insurance companies are spending time and energy to contain the risk. The NICB is involved with law enforcement and Federal authorities to address the issue.
