Bradley-Kading

World Risk and Insurance News spoke with Brad Kading, President & Executive Director of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR), during the recent Joint Industry Forum in New York.

According to Brad Kading , President of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, ABIR members believe the influx of new capital into the market is a long-term change in the industry’s capital structure. What has happened in the reinsurance sector has “spilled over into the insurance market.” While this is a “natural evolution”, it is disruptive to some specialty segments.

Mr. Kading believes the challenge that lies ahead is to grow the demand and sales for insurance products in the U.S. and emerging markets so the new capital can be put to work.
